Entertainment can cost you an unknown amount of money throughout the year. By planning and preparing yourself for a good time out, just by using coupons or just changing the way you think about 'Entertainment', you can save yourself and your family money in this area of your life.

One of the suggestions we have for you is to split the cost of an Entertainment book with another family and thus split the coupons in the book. There are generally coupons for movies, restaurants, bowling alleys, local sporting events, so you can save money on the types of entertainment your family is looking for. We say generally, because every Entertainment book for individual cities is different.

1. Rentals
   One of our money saving tips is to not go out to the movie theater. With a family of four, and an average price of $10 for tickets, that's $40. Even if everyone shared the large popcorn and a pack of candy, you can add $5.50 + $3.00 = $8.50 MORE. And who can have popcorn without soda? For two large soda's, you've just added $8. These are all estimations of course, but one night out at the movies, without even considering eating-out yet, has cost a family of four $56.50 to go out to the movies.
   
   Understand that we know that movies are generally the form of entertainment we rely on as well. That's why we offer these two movie-watching options as something to consider, that could potentially save you money.
   
   As we have tried both NetFlix & Blockbuster Total Access to rent our movies, here's what we've learned:


• Netflix is lower cost per month than Blockbuster Total Access
• Blockbuster Total Access allows you to go into any Blockbuster store with your online movie, and it exchange it for a new one right then. This is handy if you are wanting to see a new movie THAT DAY.
• Netflix automatically sends you a movie as soon as it's available, as soon as you've turned in your previous movie, according to where you've placed it on your 'list of movies.'
• Blockbuster Total Access has access to the newest movies to rent before Netflix does.
• Netflix also offers certain movies online for free. This is handy when you are traveling and there is 'nothing' on TV that you want to watch. That is, if the hotel you are staying at has free internet service (or you have a network card) and you brought your laptop.

   Consider purchasing pre-viewed movies from Blockbuster.com . Unless it's a favorite that you will watch over and over again, you will probably watch the same movie only a few times a year.
