| Save $2400? |
You May Be Asking "Can I Really Save $2400 a Year With This Site?"
Here is our personal experience using these techniques:
- Auto and Homeowners Insurance – Saved $50 per month ( I was already getting a fairly good price, some people could save much more)
- Groceries – Saved $30 per month ( I have a small family, a large family could easily save $50 to $75 per month on groceries)
- Pet Supplies – Saved $20 per month
- I setup an Online Savings Account – Earning $15 per month interest
- I have a 5% fuel rebate card – I save $50 per month with this card
- I eat out a lot, and have saved at least $25 per month with our Eat Out and Save Techniques
- I save at least $10 per month using my online sources for printer/refill ink, business printing, godaddy.com webhosting, ebay home improvement coupons, and by shopping on ebay for oddball items.
That is $200 per month, and $2400 per year right there.
That does not account for the following transactions:
- Saved over $250 in airfare on a family trip to South Dakota. On Travelocity.com the airfare plus hotel was $250 less than the airfare alone. We booked the Hotel even though we didn’t need it, we were staying with family. We never showed up at the hotel, just saved the $250.
- Sold a Truck on Craigslist, I listed it for free instead of paying $50 for two weeks in the local paper.
I saved at least $2700 this year using the techniques listed here. I would have had to earn nearly $4000 at my job, then pay taxes on it, to have $2700 left over after taxes. Saving $2700 is just like earning an extra $333 per month. ($4000 divided by 12 months)
- So how can you get on the road to big savings:
- Shop around your auto and homeowners insurance
- Save money on groceries
- Save money on pet supplies
- Setup an online savings account
- Obtain a fuel rebate card like the Discover Open Road 5% rebate card
- Read and use the other techniques and tips found on this website.
